Everyone wants your money … Except me.
Campaigns are expensive—but I’m not asking for campaign donations.
Most of us will agree that money plays an outsized role in the electing of our representatives. We hear about “dark money” and PACs, we get constant fundraising emails from candidates, and often the person who raises the most money wins. I think this should change, and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. Therefore, I have decided to self-fund my campaign, and NOT ask for campaign donations. I have earmarked $30,000 into my campaign account, and I am prepared to do more to win this seat back for the GOP.
Instead of asking you for campaign donations, I am asking you to instead give a donation to a local charity. There are many organizations in Mecklenburg county which are doing exceptional work, and I will ask you to support them with what you would have donated to my campaign.
To kick this off, I am making a $500 donation to the Matthews Food Bank, a group which provides basic nutritional support to the underprivileged of Matthews.
Please let me know what organizations you choose to support, and I’ll publish a list of charities receiving support! Maybe this will be the start of something big!
Thank you for all of the support you have shown me in these early days of this campaign. I have been very encouraged, and I am ready to work every day to win this seat so that once again there is Republican representation in South Mecklenburg.
In your service,
